As the focal point for Ericsson and Vonage’s Mobile World Congress exhibition, we created a multi-part video series. The goal? Visualize use cases enabled by the combined power of Vonage’s API Network Platform and Ericsson’s 5G network. The scope of this ambitious series encompassed 11 videos with dozens of characters, scenarios, and locations. The big challenge: Do it all within very real time and budget constraints.

Our clients had a vision, and it was ambitious. To bring it to life we conceived and executed a crafty, hybrid production plan: We shot the majority of the content for the series in an LED Volume studio, enabling us to capture dozens of scenes in two just days without stepping foot outside the studio space.
That footage was then supplemented with stock footage, traditional location shoots, motion graphic overlays, floating UI, and 3D and AI-enabled special effects to create a complete story of a travelers journey.
If you want to tell engaging stories about complex technology, you’d better do your homework. We do. Communicating the value proposition of Vonage’s API Network Platform and Ericsson’s 5G network through real-life use case scenarios involved a deep dive into complicated technical information and close collaboration with the technical experts behind the scenes at Vonage. Through this approach, we were able to help viewers make the connection between Ericsson and Vonage API technology and the practical, real-life benefits it enables.

The VMG team was able to fully realize the Ericsson Vonage vision on time and on budget. We received glowing praise from our client about how well the work was received at Mobile World Congress. Shortly afterwards, the videos were selected for inclusion in the Ericsson Imagine Studio. Of course, a key KPI for us is return business. A week after Mobile World Congress, based on the success of the API use case videos, our client reached out to us to create a new, multi-part video series.
